Hence, we have designed a process with heaps of personalized steps for you.

Design Approach

We want you to feel empowered enough to engage in every bit of designing in your home. We want to help your whole project proceed with the least amount of stress as possible.

Collaborative Design – we design your home with you, not for you. Hence, we have created this design process that will encourage you to participate. We want you to understand the design of your home and feel your vision has been realized.

Integrated building materials – Each material has been chosen for its energy-efficient qualities. Brick and other insulating materials keep our interior spaces comfortable with minimal energy usage.

Support – We will support you every step of the way. Building your home is exciting, but there will always be moments of stress especially during construction. Building a home is a very large investment you will undertake and you will need to make countless of decisions. Unexpected challenges can get you off-track. Hence, we would like to stay with you from start to finish.

Design Process

Our goal is that you are involved and supported throughout the construction of your home. Hence, we have developed a design process with heaps of support to help you with your decisions.

Predesign stage – Understanding you and your project – The first step with anything you want to build is to clarify your vision, how you want it to function. The spaces you like. Before we commit working with you, we would help you to clarify your vision and ensure that we are aligned in our thoughts.

Schematic Design – Drawing your project – This is where we will transfer your vision to paper. There will be several solutions to your vision and then we can work together to find the best solution for you.

Tendering – Finding a builder – Once the schematics have been finished we will tender out the design to a couple of builders. You will choose the one you are most comfortable with.

Design Development – Finalizing the nitty-gritty bits – By the end of Design Development, you will have a better sense of your home, aesthetically and functionally. During this time the builder will draw up your building permit drawings to be submitted to the council. Depending on the builder, the builder will start working with you regarding the final colours, appliances and finishes to your home. At Eco Abode, we will be designing the systems that make the home function comfortably and eco-friendly. For example, recycling, wastewater, rainwater, solar power etc.

During Construction – The final leg – Construction time is full of excitement and stressful too. We would stay with you through this time to ensure that the process is as smooth as possible.
